A part of your branding as a musician is your artist site. Your site is an essential part of your marketing efforts. It holds everything about you and your music. There are three reasons you need an artist site.
- It shows your professionalism
- It controls your image and content
- You can sell and connect directly with your fans
Let’s break it down.
What Your Site Needs
About Me Page
This page consists of your bio, talk about how you began your music journey, where you are now, what motivates you, what artists you’re similar to, and a picture of yourself or your band.
Video Page:
This page consists of any new music videos you released or behind-the-scenes videos you’ve created for your fans. P.S. Your fans love to see you in action! Take lots of videos!
Music Page:
One of the most important pages on your site, the music page showcases all your recent music and directs fans to listen to more.
Merch Store
Your merch store allows fans to get a piece of you. Here you’ll sell merchandise such as concert tees, CDs/Vinyl, cups, and other items.
Tour Page
This page allows fans to know where they can find you next. Dont worry if you dont have any tour dates yet! You can also put information about the time you will go live on social media.
Recap
Your artist’s website is the best way to showcase your music and your brand and keeps you connected with your fans. Building your artist site doesn’t have to be expensive or difficult. Website builders such as Wix, WordPress, SquareSpace, Shopify, and GoDaddy have templates to help you build a beautiful, yet functional artist site. Before you start building, look up some of your favorite artists and check out their websites to get inspiration. A few of my favorites are:
- drakerelated.com
- beyonce.com
- her-official.com
- dojacat.com
- maryjblige.com
